Lesson 5: Ready, Set, Get Excited and Write

Alright, you should have a list of at least 5 keywords at this point.

Now, to make money online, you need to spent a few minutes writing an article targeting that exact keyword.

This is typically in the form of an 400-500 word article.

You do not need to be an expert in the English Language...in fact, if you have read anything interesting online lately, chances are it was written as though you are having a conversation with a friend.

You do not need to be able to write like an author would in the Wall Street Journal or within the New York Times!  I know this because I have seen articles that produce money.  They are ones that are interesting and sound like a friend wrote them to you in an email, not like they were taken out of a newspaper.

The reason for this is because people online are becoming accustomed to this type of language. Look at how people write in facebook, on twitter or within their latest blog posts.  They write as though they are speaking to you versus being like some textbook that puts you to sleep in college.

So I don't want to hear any excuses about any of you not being able to write.  At the bare minimum, write as though you would be writing a letter to a friend.

Since you will be writing about something you enjoy, you will be able to come up with ideas and content for articles rather quickly.

I am first going to tell you how to write an article, and in the next step I am going to show you exactly.

Quick and Easy ways to get ideas for the article content

People always say... "I can't think of 400-500 words to write about".   If you are saying this right now then I have some easy ways for you to put together an article.  Each article should be 6-10 paragraphs in length.  Here is an outline of an article:

Paragraph 1: What you are going to talk about
Paragraph 2-6:  Topics relevant to your keyword
Last Paragraph:  What you just talked about

Don't be too worried about having perfect content.  You can always change it later and it is almost better not to be perfect.  Perfectionists don't make the most money...you will never get something perfect the first time...and if you overthink things you will only waste time.

What you should understand of the 3 main writing rules that you need to follow when writing your article:

  • Have at least 5-10 instances of the exact keyword within the article.
  • Have the keyword within the headline of your article
  • Write as though you would send a letter to your friend

So where do you get content ideas?  A few places work well for me and speed up the time to write an article drastically.  An article shouldn't take you any longer than 30 minutes...and that includes the research!

For research on related topics go to:

Let's look at  an example of an article I wrote (in less than 10 minutes by the way). The article is going to target the keyword "Free Adds".

Say you are interested in "Generating Free Business Leads", here is an example article targeting the term "Business Leads".
